In September 2013, ‘A world full of data‘, was launched to examine how statistics might be taught in ten A-level subjects other than maths. It follows a 2012 report, ‘The Future of Statistics in our schools and colleges‘. The focus of the earlier report was on statistics being then taught across the curriculum; however, its recommendations and title looked forward to possible improvements in the provision. During its preparation, several people made the point that the nature of many subjects is changing in higher education and the workplace, with increasing emphasis on mathematics and particularly statistics.
